Joining Manifest London and Manifest New York to become the third location for Manifest Group, Manifest Stockholm will be led by group CEO Alex Myers and two Swedish directors, Anna Karlsson and Josefine Hedlund.

Manifest Stockholm becomes the third office for Manifest Group, specialising in creative brand strategy and helping Swedish businesses expand into the UK and US markets

Manifest Stockholm opens with six launch clients; sustainable sportswear brand, Houdini; Älska cider from The Swedish Cider Company; Military Work, a recruitment and staffing agency focused on helping ex veterans find civilian work; Scottish craft beer pioneer, Innis & Gunn, Slättö that develops, owns and manages new residential properties and Sweden’s leading brand of organic peanut butter, Green Choice.

“All of the Swedish businesses we’ve met have a real understanding of how brand purpose needs to be at the centre of what they do – far more than elsewhere in Europe – but there seems to be a lack of agencies providing creative strategies and campaigns to match” commented Alex Myers, founder and group CEO at Manifest. “That’s where Manifest Stockholm comes in. Our offices in London and New York also allow us to help Scandinavian brands expand beyond their domestic market and go global.”

The new office is located at Birger Jarlsgatan 18, in the Östermalm area of the city centre. The business opens with four permanent members of staff, led by two new directors, Anna Karlsson and Josefine Hedlund, who each join from positions as independent communications consultants and have experience across a wide range of consumer and business-to-business sectors.

Anna Karlsson commented:

“It’s the right time to be bringing a new kind of communications agency to the Swedish market. The PR industry here can often be traditional in structure; but we hear that many of the most exciting brands in the country are looking to usher in a new era of creativity, integration and innovation. Manifest Stockholm is leading that charge, and it’s very exciting to be a part of it.”

Manifest has already delivered campaigns in Sweden for some of its UK clients, ranging from maverick craft brewery, BrewDog to the global sex education campaign from Durex and MTV Staying Alive Foundation, Someone Like Me. The attention drawn from these campaigns led to the agency building a strategic partnership with purpose-driven business consultancy and network, Coest, who introduced Manifest Stockholm to its first client, the sustainable sportswear pioneer, Houdini.

Josefine Hedlund added:

“Our client portfolio in Stockholm already includes some of the most innovative brands in Scandinavia – brands genuinely looking to change things, like Houdini for instance – and the real power of what we do is not simply to help those companies to compete in their industry, but to redefine it forever. Our mission at Manifest is to help brands change the world for the better, and it’s a privilege to be bringing that to Scandinavia as a co-founder at Manifest Stockholm.”

Manifest Stockholm is an independent subsidiary of Manifest Group, the company formed when Myers took full control of Manifest London and Manifest New York earlier this year. Formed in 2009 in Myers’ living room with no capital investment, Manifest is now the fastest growing independent agency in PR Week’s Top 150 report 2016 and one of the top three creative agencies in the world, according to the Global Creative Index 2016 from Holmes Report. The agency has plans to continue its international expansion into South Africa and Australia before 2020.
