Manifest NYC and The Plum Guide team up for major international expansion

The Plum Guide – the Michelin Guide of vacation home rentals – has appointed Manifest New York to make noise around its launch in four new cities – New York, LA, Milan and Rome.

The London based company handpicks the world’s best vacation homes from over 25 different sites, including AirBnB, HomeAway and Onefinestay, and puts them through a rigorous testing process to ensure only the best of the best are selected.

The 150-point inspection is so exhaustive that only 1 in every 100 homes passes the “Plum Guide Test”, which includes interviews with the host, actual visits to the home and scoring everything from the design of the property, neighborhood appeal and transport connections to the water pressure in the shower and the WiFi speed. The test’s criteria are powered by Plum’s closely guarded and ever-evolving Science behind the Perfect Stay. The 4 new cities will join London and Paris, which launched in 2015 and 2018 respectively.

Manifest New York will create and execute an integrated campaign taking The Plum Guide out of just the traditional travel press and cementing its reputation as the go-to destination for the discerning travel set looking for quality and peace of mind in their next vacation home.

David Watsky, Account Director at Manifest New York said:

“When we first got word of The Plum Guide we literally lost hours browsing the epic holiday homes in their collection, mouths agape, dreaming of where we’d go on our next vacation. We were even more excited to learn about the incredible story behind the brand and to share ideas on what we could do together.

At Manifest, we’re all about brands that aim for a positive impact on people’s lives. The Plum Guide does just that, by ensuring you never have to walk nervously into a vacation home again. Its meticulous testing gives you the confidence that it’ll be nothing short of perfection.”

Iona Carter, Head of Brand at The Plum Guide said:

“We chose Manifest New York because they not only understood our unique proposition and place in the travel space, but also pushed us creatively in a new and exciting direction. We look forward to kick-starting this new partnership as The Plum Guide enters its next phase of growth.”

The Plum Guide was founded at the end of 2015 and now employs over 35 people at its Shoreditch HQ in East London, plus multiple local expert ‘Home Critics’ based in each of its 6 cities. It boasts over 2,000 of the very best homes to rent in London and Paris, and is quickly expanding its collection in New York, LA, Milan and Rome. The Plum Guide mission is to solve the two biggest problems in vacation rentals: the time-consuming search & booking experience, when an hour’s decision-making turns into three days’ research just to find a suitable home; and the hit-and-miss stay experience, when you never really know if what you see is what you’re going to get. The ambition is to build the definitive collection of the world’s best holiday homes.
