The Malibu Games landed in Liverpool this summer – complete with three epic game zones inspired by the tropical tipples, a beach bar, live DJ sets and a whole host of celebrity ambassadors.
Our task? Promote the Games to help drive ticket sales through a solid media strategy, influencer activity, asset creation and social content.
Whilst the nation basked in a glorious summer heatwave, we brought the beach to Liverpool with the Malibu Games. Think a week-long party with a tropical beach bar, a soundtrack from top Liverpool DJs, celeb ambassadors in the form of Olivia Buckland, Gabby Allen and Sam Thompson, three unique game zones culminating in a Crystal Maze-style Passionfruit Prism. Oh, and Malibu cocktails to top it all off, of course.
In the run-up to the Games we launched a four-pronged media strategy, kicking off with an announcement release and the creation of teaser videos.
Before the Games opened to the public, we hosted media and influencers at a press night to give them a taste of the Games themselves. We captured great blooper footage of our celebs slipping and sliding their way around the zones to land that extra hit of coverage as the Games began!
